Inspiration in Milan

This autumn, the Lulu team joined our agent for an inspirational VIP tour to Milan. It was a truly amazing, fun and inspiring trip. We started at the Cassina factories, where we were able to see their new products as well as their upholstery production and wood production. It was a special experience seeing craftmanship of such quality, and suddenly I wished – once again – that I owned all the Cassina classics. Their wooden furniture production in particular is quite unique.

During the tour, we visited showrooms for Cassina, Lea Ceramiche, B&B Italia, Technogym, Giorgetti, Baxter, Cappellini, Artemide, Foscarini, Nemo Lighting, Flos, Poltrona Frau, Bottega Veneta and House of Tai Ping. Milan and interior decoration are a perfect match.

We had dinner at the Bullona restaurant, where we feasted on seafood and lots of champagne. It was the most fun and festive restaurant I have dined at for a VERY long time. It was only a Tuesday evening, but already by the starter course we were on our feet, dancing with the other tables. I’ll DEFINITELY eat there again the next time I visit Milan. Just across the street from the restaurant is an old church which has been transformed into a nightclub – the perfect place to continue the evening!

We stayed at the Hotel Excelsior, part of the Marriott group. It’s a large and beautiful hotel with many interesting architectural details. We were given a guided tour of the hotel, and the enormous 1,000-square-metre suites were particularly impressive and luxurious.
